Our commitment to help save the planet
With environmental sustainability essential for the future of our planet, Dig! is committed to delivering music in as eco-friendly a way as possible.
Here at Dig!, we love our planet as much as we love our music, which is why we’re committed to making sure that environmental sustainability is at the forefront of everything we do. From rethinking how we package and deliver your orders, to ensuring that we manufacture sustainable products while maintaining the high standards expected of us, here are the steps we’re taking to reduce our carbon footprint while getting your favourite music to your ears.
1: Sustainable packaging
We’re exploring the best ways to use recycled and recyclable materials and reduce plastic waste, moving towards more sustainable ways of packaging our products. Here’s what we’re focusing on:
- No more shrink wrap: A terrifying amount of plastic shrink wrap gets thrown away every day. We’re starting to reduce that waste by rolling out Dig!-branded paper bags made from 100% recycled paper to protect your records. It looks cool and it saves the planet (just make sure you recycle them).
- Forest-friendly sleeves: Not only do our 12” sleeves show off classic album artworks in all their glory, they’re also manufactured in European plants that only use FSC-certified cardboard and paper derived from sustainable forestry.
2: Eco-friendly pressings
We all know that vinyl just sounds better, but how can we make it better for the planet? We’re exploring a cool way of making vinyl, with select products using 100 per cent recycled PVC recovered during the manufacturing process. It results in less waste and reduced CO2 emissions.
3: Oil-free printing
We’re using vegetable-based inks free from mineral oils, that have less impact on the planet.
We’re constantly looking for more ways in which we can safeguard the future of the planet.
Our world demands it.
