Space Oddity (50th Anniversary Boxset Singles)
Commemorating the 50th anniversary of David Bowie’s ‘Space Oddity’ this strictly limited edition double 7” single box set features brand new mixes of the A and B side by Tony Visconti.
First released as a 7-inch single on 11th July 1969, ‘Space Oddity’ was also the opening track of David Bowie’s self titled second studio album, David Bowie. To commemorate its 50th anniversary, it has been pressed here in a strictly limited edition double 7” single set housed within a box.
Single 1 is the original UK mono single coupling with the ‘Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud’ replicating the original Philips labels and featuring the rare original promotional picture sleeve.
Single 2 features new 2019 Tony Visconti mixes of the original A and B sides housed in a newly created picture sleeve featuring a Ray Stevenson shot of David taken on stage at the ‘Save Rave ‘69’ concert at the London Palladium on 30th November, 1969.
This set also includes a double-sided poster featuring an original ‘Space Oddity’ print advertisement and an alternative Ray Stevenson shot of David taken on stage at the ‘Save Rave ‘69’ concert at the London Palladium on 30th November, 1969, as well as an information card and a print featuring an alternative shot by Jojanneke Claassen from the ‘Space Oddity’ promo single cover session.
