Released on 18th June 1991, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge is the ninth studio album from American rock band Van Halen. It is the third Van Halen album to feature vocalist Sammy Hagar.
Van Halen reunited with Producer Ted Templeman, who had not worked with the band since their album 1984, featuring ex-vocalist Dave Lee Roth. The album marked a return to hard rock and a more guitar-driven sound, leaving out synth sounds and replacing them with pianos. The title of the record came from Sammy Hagar, who wanted to play with ideas of censorship.
The album hit number 1 on the US Billboard 200 and stayed in the same position for 3 weeks. It went on to be certified 3x Platinum in the US.
